jpg text image to asci text on Ubuntu 12.04

On all my Ubuntu systems I used tesseract OCR to get ascii text from a image. Afeer upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 this didn't work anymore. I keep getting te error:

actual_tessdata_num_entries_ <= TESSDATA_NUM_ENTRIES:Error:Assert failed:in file tessdatamanager.cpp, line 48
/usr/bin/xsane2tess: line 79: 14929 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) tesseract "$TIF_FILE" "$TXT_FILE" -l nld 1>&2

Now I use Cuneiform. Works great out of the box. Cuneiform can work with jpeg files and with TIFF also.

cuneiform -l dut -o /home/rob/Desktop/1.txt /home/rob/Desktop/1.jpg
