How-to remove the mdash after the text field in Drupal Twitter module

Screenshot mdash
I was struggling around with removing the mdash character from the post on my website. It took some time till I realized that the dmash was NOT in the field-content but that is a field-separator.

I removing the dmash character in the view by creating a new views-tempate with the filename views-view-fields--tweets--block.tpl.php added one line:

Top part of original code of the views-view-fields tempate

<?php foreach ($fields as $id => $field): ?>
  <?php if (!empty($field->separator)): ?>
    <?php print $field->separator; ?>
  <?php endif; ?>
.
.
.

Added a line tho replace the mdash caracter with a blank ""
<?php foreach ($fields as $id => $field): ?>
  <?php if (!empty($field->separator)): ?>
    <?php $field->separator = str_replace("—","",$field->separator); ?>
    <?php print $field->separator; ?>
  <?php endif; ?>
.
.
.
